Apple Finally Receives Official Approval to Launch Apple Intelligence in China - TechWired

Apple Intelligence has finally received official approval from Chinese authorities, paving the way for its launch on iPhone devices within China after a wait of nearly 21 months since it was first announced.

Apple registered the service with the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), a mandatory step that all AI products must undergo before being launched in the Chinese market.

According to a new report, Apple Intelligence will rely on AI technologies developed by Baidu and Alibaba in China. Alibaba confirmed that its Qwen model will be integrated into the service on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS systems within China.

A spokesperson for Baidu also confirmed that the company is collaborating with Apple to develop Apple Intelligence features tailored for iPhone users in the Chinese market.

Despite receiving regulatory approval, Chinese authorities have not disclosed an official launch date, a decision that will remain with Apple.
