Apple is considering reducing the production plans for the standard iPhone 17, in a move reflecting its concerns about the expected decline in demand for the phone due to the continuous rise in component costs, especially memory chips according to new reports and leaks. According to leaks, Apple conducted an internal review of iPhone 17 sales forecasts after the rise in prices of basic components increased the cost of manufacturing the phone. Information suggests that the company may reduce production capacity for some assembly lines by a third as part of a reassessment of production volume before the device is officially launched.

Previous reports had indicated that Apple was reducing iPhone 17 series production plans by up to 15%, but recent leaks suggest that additional measures could be taken if manufacturing costs continue to rise.

This development comes as global memory chip shortages and rising prices persist, driven by increasing demand for artificial intelligence application infrastructure.
