Apple raised the prices of Apple Music and Apple One subscriptions in the United States and a number of other markets, as part of a move it justified by the rising costs of content licenses.

The individual subscription to Apple Music within the US is now $11.99 instead of $10.99, while the student subscription has increased to $6.99 from $5.99, and the family plan price has risen to $19.99 from $16.99.

In contrast, Apple kept the individual plan of Apple One unchanged at $19.95, while the family plan rose to $27.95 and the Premier plan to $39.95, with a price increase of $2 for each.

Apple confirmed that the increase was due to rising costs of content licenses, explaining that Apple Music subscription prices will take effect from today.
