Apple is preparing to launch a large number of smart home products in the coming period, according to TechCrunch.

Apple is set to expand its presence in the smart home market after devices like HomePod mini and Apple TV have gone without major updates for years. The company's delay was reportedly linked to developing Siri AI, but with the new generation of the intelligent assistant arriving, Apple appears closer to launching a range of new products.

Products closest to launch

Apple is expected to release the new generation of HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K this fall.

The HomePod mini will receive an upgrade from the S5 chip to the S9 or a newer chip, along with potential new colors, a new wireless connectivity chip, and possibly audio improvements. However, the most significant upgrade will be support for Siri AI, which could turn the device into a more advanced home assistant.

Apple TV 4K is expected to move from the A15 Bionic processor to the A17 Pro, with the possibility of running some Apple Intelligence features locally. Reports also indicate that the remote control may receive an updated design.

The current price of HomePod mini is around $129, while the starting price of Apple TV 4K is $199. It is expected that Apple will maintain these prices with the new generation.Products to arrive later

Apple is also working on its first device to be a hub for controlling a smart home, and it could come in two versions; one with a screen that can be magnetically mounted on the wall, and another with a base containing a speaker, similar to Google Nest Hub.

The company may launch the device, currently known as HomePad, between October and early next year. It will include a 7-inch square screen, an A18 processor, and a new operating system internally called homeOS, with support for FaceTime calls, control of household appliances, and interaction with Siri AI.

Apple is also working on an updated full-size HomePod, although there is no specific launch date yet, and it is expected to get a newer processor to support Siri AI features.

Other products in development

After late 2026 or early 2027, Apple is preparing to enter a new category of smart home devices, working on a security camera and a smart door bell, thereby expanding from developing smart home software to manufacturing its own devices.

The company also plans to launch an advanced version of the smart home screen device, which will come with a larger 9-inch screen and a robotic arm, turning it into a desktop device described as a household robot.
