Technical leaks have revealed the near complete technical specifications of Samsung Electronics' new foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, which is scheduled to be officially launched in mid-July amid reports that the South Korean giant will release a larger version under the name "Fold Ultra".

According to leaked data circulated on tech platforms, the standard version of the new phone will weigh 201 grams with dimensions of up to 123.9 x 81.9 x 9.7 mm in its folded state and 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.5 mm when fully opened. Indicators suggest that Samsung is seeking to expand its foldable family through the anticipated "Fold Ultra" model, which is expected to have larger dimensions, making the regular Fold's measurements this year closer to those of last year's "Fold 7".

In terms of display, Samsung has equipped the phone with “DYNAMIC AMOLED 2X” screens that support a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The main open screen measures 7.6 inches with "+QHD" resolution and an aspect ratio of 4:3, while the external cover screen measures 5.5 inches with the same resolution and an aspect ratio of 16:10.

Regarding internal performance, leaked documents indicate that the company is relying on Qualcomm’s latest processor, “Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5”, in a customized version for Galaxy devices and manufactured using 3nm technology, supported by 12GB of RAM. The company will launch the device with multiple storage options including capacities of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.‏

The leaks included updates to the camera system; the phone has two rear cameras with a resolution of 50 megapixels: the first is a wide-angle lens with an F1.8 aperture, and the second is a telephoto lens with an F1.9 aperture. The phone also includes two cameras dedicated to selfies and video calls with a resolution of 10 megapixels each and an F2.2 aperture; one is mounted on the rear cover and the other is integrated into the internal screen.‏

The new phone operates on a battery with a capacity of 4800 mAh, with support for Samsung’s advanced fast charging technologies through “Super Fast Charging 2.0” and fast wireless charging “Fast Wireless Charging 2.0”.‏

Samsung has not officially commented on these leaks, but analysts predict that the group's press conference in mid-month will settle the debate about its plans to compete with rising Chinese devices in the flexible smartphone market, especially the strategy related to the new “Ultra” model.‏
