While it is said that HMD Global company is working on developing a feature phone with a 3.5 inch touch screen called HMD Fame, reports say the company is also developing the HMD Asha 505 which is slightly bigger but is expected to be affordable and at a similar price. According to the latest information from leakers, the device’s internal hardware is much simpler than a phone like HMD Skyline that costs $399.

The device has a somewhat old design with a flat frame, colorful back panel, and a very small circular camera module containing only one camera. It also has particularly wide borders above and below the screen which allows HMD Global to include a front speaker and at least 5 megapixel selfie camera without having to resort to punch hole or notch. The 5-inch touch screen relies on an IPS panel with a 720p resolution, making it slightly bigger than Apple iPhone 6 that was launched in 2014.

The HMD Asha 505 phone uses an octa-core, unspecified processor integrated with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of flash storage. Despite the limited RAM, it is reported that HMD Global relies on Android 14 Go Edition to achieve good performance. This budget phone's specifications are completed by a 8 megapixel main camera, a 3000 mAh battery, dual SIM slot, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and hotspot feature. The leaker has not yet been able to reveal any details regarding the launch date or price of the HMD Asha 505.
