Google has finally released a native Gemini app for Windows 10 and 11. This provides a streamlined way to use the AI tools on Windows PCs and follows a Mac release earlier this year.

Once downloaded, users can pull up the Gemini app via a keyboard shortcut, just like how it works on Mac computers. The company says this is great when people "need a quick fact-check on a document or a few catchy title ideas for a presentation." I would recommend fact-checking that fact-check because, you know, it's generative AI.

The app integrates with other Google AI products, so tasks can be sent to the agentic assistant Gemini Spark. It even works with stuff like Gmail and Google Drive. It can also generate images and videos via Nano Banana and Gemini Omni, if that's your bag.

Google promises the app is "lightweight and quiet," so it won't slow down Windows PCs. It's available for download right now and the company says more native desktop capabilities are coming down the pike in the future.
