Nintendo is preparing to re-release three classic Pokémon games on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, according to a new leak, after the company recently released Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.

According to information published by leaker Shpeshal Nick, Nintendo plans to release Pokémon Ruby, Pokémon Sapphire, and Pokémon Emerald in late September or early October.

While the leaker has previously provided accurate information about Nintendo products, this news remains just leaks at this point and is not confirmed.

Adding to the uncertainty is that Nintendo has yet to release Pokémon Gold and Silver, or their remakes HeartGold and SoulSilver, on the Nintendo Switch, making a re-release of third-generation games an uncertain step for now.

The available information does not reveal details about the new release, but it is expected that Nintendo will follow the same approach as with FireRed and LeafGreen.

Accordingly, the games will not receive major changes in graphics or gameplay, while the company may make some minor improvements to suit larger screens, along with limited modifications to dialogue and certain game events.

Nintendo has released FireRed and LeafGreen for $19.99 each, available only digitally through the Nintendo eShop, so it’s likely that all three new games will follow the same policy if they are confirmed to be released.
