French company Momentum Technologies has unveiled mobile survival capsules designed to provide protection in emergency situations, ranging from floods and earthquakes to armed attacks and explosions. The price of these capsules starts at around £25,000, with the most advanced model costing up to £35,000. They can be transported by helicopter or truck and deployed quickly in various locations.

The capsule is called "LIFEPOD" and is made of high-strength technical steel, designed for easy transportation and deployment at different sites.

Momentum Technologies explained that these capsules differ from traditional fixed shelters as they are designed to be mobile, easily transported, manufactured, deployed quickly, and adaptable to various environments and operational scenarios.

The capsules can be shipped in containers or transported by helicopter. They can also be stacked or integrated into urban areas, industrial sites, and even remote environments.

These features reflect the high price tag, with prices ranging from £25,404 to £34,904 per capsule, depending on the model and specifications.

The survival capsules are available in three main models: W01, B01, and Q01. Each is designed to handle a different type of risk or disaster, according to the British newspaper Daily Mail.

W01 is a floating shelter for 2 to 4 people, designed to face water-related disasters such as tsunamis, flash floods, coastal flooding, dam and bridge collapses. The company confirms that the capsule relies on a high-strength marine aluminum structure, equipped with an integrated buoyancy system and ballast, allowing it to remain afloat and withstand debris impact while providing safe shelter for passengers until rescue teams arrive. It added that initial tests of the model have achieved "very encouraging results," although no launch date has been announced.

The B01 model is designed to accommodate 1 or 2 people, offering protection against bullets, shrapnel, and armed attacks, as well as operating in high-risk environments. This model targets sensitive sites, critical infrastructure, security forces, and industrial facilities that require rapid protection solutions, where it can be sheltered inside and fully closed within seconds. The model is currently undergoing manufacturing, with final verification tests to be completed in the coming period.

In contrast, the Q01 model focuses on earthquakes and structural collapses, designed as a small and easily accessible shelter in areas prone to these disasters, enhancing survival chances when evacuating buildings becomes impossible or too dangerous.

Momentum Technologies unveiled these capsules at the VivaTech exhibition in Paris. The company’s founder, Cedric Chovat, confirmed that they are working to accelerate manufacturing and obtain necessary certifications, paving the way for commercial production and wider deployment of these preventive solutions.
