Google has officially announced the date for its annual Made by Google event, where it will unveil the new generation of Pixel 11 phones along with the Pixel Watch 5. The event will take place on August 12, 2026 in New York City. This year's event comes eight days before the launch of the Pixel 10 series last year, and the ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. Eastern Time.

Tensor G6 Processor with 2 Nanometer Manufacturing Precision

The Pixel 11 series is expected to be Google's first phone to use the Tensor G6 processor manufactured by TSMC using a 2 nanometer technology. It will utilize a new Gate-All-Around (GAA) structure, which aims to reduce power consumption and improve performance by limiting current leakage and increasing transistor response speed. This gives the phones higher performance and better efficiency compared to previous generations.

Four Phones and Changes in Memory

Predictions indicate that Google will reveal four models: Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Leaks suggest a possible reduction in the base model's RAM from 12GB to 8GB due to a shortage of memory chips. However, the Pixel 11 Pro may start with 12GB of RAM, with higher versions offering 16GB of memory and larger storage spaces.

New Pixel Glow feature

Another highly anticipated feature is the Pixel Glow, an LED notification system with multiple colors on the back of the phone. It will allow users to customize a different color for each contact or app type, along with various lighting patterns indicating the type of notification, such as messages, missed calls, or work-related alerts.

The feature is expected to use light signals for different system states, like showing a pulsating red light when battery levels are critically low and a steady green light when charging is complete. It will also have a special pattern indicating that the Gemini assistant is listening or processing voice commands.

AI improvements

Google is expected to continue focusing on AI during the event, with the development of the Magic Cue feature, which did not achieve the expected success on Pixel 10 phones. The company aims to make it more integrated with system apps to provide users with required information proactively, such as automatically displaying flight or booking data while making calls or performing various tasks.

Google is set to reveal all official details about the new phones, their specifications, and prices during the August 12 event, which will define the features of the new Pixel generation.
