HP has launched its new and relatively powerful laptop in China, the Zbook X 16 G2ig model. It is being introduced with Intel Panther Lake processors. The basic configuration comes with a Core Ultra 5 336H processor, while the mid-range model features a Core Ultra 7 356H processor. For the high-end option, it runs on a Core Ultra 9 386H processor. None of these processors come with the integrated Intel Arc B390 iGPU graphics card. The good news is that HP’s laptop doesn't need it at all, as all configurations come equipped with the mobile Nvidia RTX 5060 Laptop GPU.

At the front, the laptop features a 16-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. HP claims it offers 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. The 16:10 aspect ratio provides slightly more screen space for professional work. There is no support for HDR technology, but the IPS panel boasts a brightness rating of 400 nits.

Although the laptop has a relatively thin design, it features a large battery with a capacity of 96Wh, which should provide good battery life when handling medium loads. It also supports fast charging, with HP claiming that it can reach 50% in just 30 minutes. There is a good selection of ports, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, two USB Type A ports with 5Gbps, and an Ethernet port.

There is also a SIM card slot for wireless connectivity. The device features WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. Other notable features include MIL STD 810H durability standards, dual-fan cooling setup, and an AI-enhanced 5MP camera.

The business laptop is available with up to 32GB of RAM out of the box, but there is support for expanding memory up to 128GB of DDR5 memory, which is an additional feature for those interested in running local AI models.

In terms of price, the basic configuration with a Core Ultra 5 336H processor and 16GB of RAM costs around $1920, while the premium option with a Core Ultra 9 386H processor and 32GB of RAM is priced at $2806. HP has not shared any information about the global launch of the Zbook X 16 G2ig, but the company recently launched the ZBook 8 G1i globally. This model may reach the global market soon.
