Abu Dhabi, September 29 (WAM) - The Integrated Transport Centre, a department of the Abu Dhabi Municipality and Transport, is showcasing three advanced technological systems during its participation in the first edition of the Quality of Life and Investment Exhibition "LifeX 2026" in Abu Dhabi. These systems aim to enhance the efficiency of the transport sector, facilitate individual mobility, and employ artificial intelligence in traffic management, thereby contributing to improving the quality of life in the emirate.

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Hamad Al Ghufli, Director-General of the Integrated Transport Centre, stated in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the centre's participation focuses on showcasing three key systems that reflect its commitment to developing smart and integrated transport solutions. These solutions are based on providing accurate information to road users, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing proactive planning for the emirate's transportation network.

He explained that the first system is dedicated to licensing and regulating commercial vehicles in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including buses, trucks, commercial transport vehicles, and refrigerated vehicles. This system enables the registration, monitoring, and control of these vehicles' operations, thereby enhancing the efficiency of supervision and regulation.

Al Ghufli noted that the centre, in coordination with the Department of Municipality and Transport, is committed to considering the impact of regulatory policies on the quality of life for residents. It ensures that these policies do not negatively affect users of transport services, whether in terms of increased costs or service disruptions.

He added that the second system involves an integrated navigation system specific to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which relies on accurate local databases and provides road users with real-time information about traffic accidents, speed changes, and route options.

The Director of the Integrated Transport Center noted that the system includes various modes of transport, including private vehicles, trucks, bicycles, scooters, and public buses, with the potential for future expansion to include trains and other means of transportation. He also pointed out that the center’s direct management of these data contributes to enhancing the accuracy of information provided to users and improving the efficiency of the transportation network.

Regarding the third system, Dr. Al-Gafli explained that it relies on artificial intelligence technologies to analyze the causes of traffic congestion and propose appropriate solutions to address them. It also simulates scenarios related to road closures or the implementation of development projects and infrastructure improvements.

He emphasized that the new system allows for a reduction in the time required to study traffic scenarios from days to minutes, through the analysis of integrated databases at the center and the provision of quick solutions. Additionally, it can provide proactive information and recommendations that support decision-making and enhance the efficiency of traffic management.

He noted that all three systems are directly linked to the concept of quality of life, which is a key focus of the “Livable Cities 2026” exhibition. He affirmed that providing accurate information and appropriate means of transportation for road users is a fundamental pillar in raising the quality of life in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and building a more efficient and sustainable transportation system.
