Google unveiled the Pixel 11 series last week, and while the phones won't be widely available until August 20th, performance test results are starting to emerge. A new result on Geekbench reveals the Tensor G6 chip's performance.

The test showed that the Pixel 11 Pro XL with the Tensor G6 processor scored 2,293 points in the single-core test and 7,108 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench 7.

These results seem good when compared to the previous generation of Pixel phones. They represent an improvement in performance by about 20% compared to the Pixel 10 Pro XL with the Tensor G5, which scored 2,010 points in the single-core test and 5,923 points in the multi-core test.

However, when comparing the Tensor G6 to leading competitive processors, the picture is less optimistic. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor scored around 3,082 points in the single-core test and 10,381 points in the multi-core test, giving it a lead of about 40% over the Pixel 11 Pro XL in some tests.

These numbers suggest that Tensor G6's performance may still be lagging by about a generation behind current leading phone processors. The expected performance places it between Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Elite, or close to MediaTek Dimensity 9400's performance.

As Qualcomm prepares to unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro next month, the gap may widen further, meaning Google could continue focusing on other aspects such as AI and user experience rather than competing with the most powerful processors in raw performance.
