Google is currently offering a free subscription to Gemini for students for an entire year, before the start of the new academic semester in German universities, which typically begins in mid-October.

Students worldwide can take advantage of this offer. Students in the United States will receive Gemini Pro, while students in other countries will get Gemini Plus for 12 months.

Students outside the US can also access Pro at a discounted rate of €5.49 per month instead of €21.99, while the regular price for Plus is around €4.99 per month.

Students can also combine this offer with YouTube Premium and receive a 70% discount. The bundle, which includes Gemini as part of the Google AI Pro plan and YouTube Premium, costs approximately €10.99 per month instead of the regular price of €21.99. After the 12-month promotional period ends, standard prices will automatically resume.

The independent Google Plus service includes access to Gemini Omni, doubled usage limits for Gemini, and 400GB of storage on Google.

Google is also particularly focused on the new Study Notebooks feature, which it launched in June. This allows students to upload their study materials and notes and receive assistance while learning, such as creating customized tests or providing additional explanation sessions by Gemini.

In the coming weeks, the Study Notebooks feature will receive more tools, including graphics and images within lessons. Students who prefer visual learning will also be able to use Gemini to create interactive 3D models, such as a model of DNA.

To subscribe to the offer, students must choose their preferred subscription plan through the promotional page, then confirm their student status via SheerID. After that, a payment method must be added to the account.

The offer ends on December 31, 2026. Therefore, students who do not wish to pay regular prices after the promotional period should cancel their subscription in time before the offer expires.
