The battery was the most prominent improvement revealed by Apple in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, as the company announced that the new generation records the largest increase in battery life in iPhone history.

Video playback reaches 36 hours on the iPhone 18 Pro and 45 hours on the iPhone 18 Pro Max for versions based only on the electronic chip, while usage per charge is up to 24 hours and 30 hours respectively.

Apple also increased the speed of wired charging; the battery can be charged to 50% in about 15 minutes, while 5 minutes of charging provides about 6 hours of video playback.

This leap is supported by the new A20 Pro chip, manufactured using a 2 nanometer technology, which is an advanced technology that enhances performance and energy efficiency. The chip includes a six-core central processor, including two high-performance cores that are up to 20% faster, while the graphics processor has seven cores with a performance increase of up to 40%.

In artificial intelligence, Apple increased the number of cores in the neural engine to 32 cores, providing twice the computing power, with an increase in memory frequency range by 50% to support running advanced AI models directly on the phone.

The company also equipped the phone with a new cooling system based on a vapor chamber that is three times larger than that of the iPhone 17 Pro, to help dissipate heat and maintain performance for longer periods.
