Dubai, March 26 (WAM) - The Samina Council for Communications has confirmed that its 2026 Summit will be held as scheduled on April 1 at the Atlantis The Palm Hotel in Dubai, under the patronage of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the Digital Government, and in cooperation with Huawei, reflecting the United Arab Emirates' pioneering position as a regional and global hub for leading digital transformation and developing communication systems.

The summit reflects the efficiency of the regulatory environment in the UAE and its ability to keep pace with market requirements while ensuring continuous coordination between policymakers, operators, and technology partners, which enhances market confidence and supports the sustainability of the digital economy.

The summit, which is the first regional leadership dialogue after Eid al-Fitr, serves as a strategic platform launched from the UAE to realign sector priorities in the region, taking advantage of the country's advanced digital infrastructure, which provides an environment conducive to innovation and collaboration among various parties.

This year’s summit will be held under the theme "Smart Networks for a Sovereign and Sustainable Future," where it will discuss several vital issues, including spectrum policies, particularly the 6 GHz band, preparations for the World Radiocommunication Conference 2027, as well as artificial intelligence applications in networks and the transformation of business models for telecommunications operators, which enhances the competitiveness of the sector in the UAE and keeps pace with its vision towards an advanced digital economy.

The summit also highlights hybrid communication models that integrate terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks, as well as the growing role of space infrastructure. This comes in light of the UAE’s accelerating investments in the space sector, along with discussions on space sustainability and orbital governance issues.

The summit addresses various topics in light of global changes, including protecting digital infrastructure, network resilience, and business continuity plans. It focuses on integrating cloud systems, data centers, and satellite infrastructure to enhance the country’s readiness for future challenges.

The UAE hosts the summit, leveraging its advanced model of institutional coordination between regulators, operators, and technology partners.
