Leaked images and renderings have shown what could be a new design for the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, including a change in the rear camera module and the possibility of the top-tier model being released in two different sizes.

The tech leaker Ice Universe posted an initial rendering of the phone, followed by a more detailed image of the back. Additionally, the leaker Sony Dixon shared additional renderings that he said were based on information about Samsung's next generation of phones.

The images indicate the company's trend towards using a prominent horizontal bar that houses part of the imaging system, instead of distributing the lenses separately across the back of the device. This arrangement is similar to the designs used in the iPhone 17 Pro and Google Pixel 11 Pro.

The renderings suggest a reduction in the vertical arrangement of cameras from three lenses to two, with one lens being moved to a separate module that includes a flash. According to leaks, Samsung may adopt an optical zoom lens with five times magnification within this module, instead of the current 3x telephoto lens.

A large internal circle in the renderings is believed to indicate the addition of a magnetic ring compatible with the Qi2 standard for wireless charging and accessory mounting. It remains unclear whether the ring will be integrated into the phone's body or require a compatible external cover.

Other leaks indicate that Samsung is considering offering the high-end series in two sizes, with the smaller model named “Galaxy S27 Pro” and the larger one retaining the name “S27 Ultra”. If this information proves to be accurate, Samsung’s lineup would become closer to Apple’s division between “Pro” and “Pro Max” models.

It is expected that the new camera bar design will be limited to the “Pro” and “Ultra” models, while the Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus may maintain their separate vertical arrangement of lenses.

The leaks also included minor changes in the position of the bottom speaker. The speaker might move to the right side on the S27, S27 Plus, and S27 Pro models, while it will be placed on the left side for the S27 Ultra model.

Samsung has not confirmed the design, specifications, or number of models in the series. The circulating images are still digital renderings, and no actual prototypes or test units have been revealed to verify the final design yet.

The company is likely to unveil the Galaxy S27 series in early 2027 if it maintains its usual schedule for launching its flagship smartphones. Samsung launched the S26 series in February 2026.
