This exclusive leak reveals the specifications of Snapdragon 4 Gen 6 and TSMC’s 4-nanometer manufacturing technology on TechRadar.

A leaked internal document from Qualcomm revealed the specifications of the upcoming Snapdragon 4 Gen 6 processor, which bears the codename Poros and model number SM4875. It is expected to succeed the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, which was released earlier this year.

The new processor maintains the same central processing unit configuration with two performance cores and six efficiency cores but also relies on TSMC’s 4-nanometer manufacturing precision.

On the other hand, the rest of the components received notable improvements, most notably the transition to an Adreno 6 graphics processor instead of Adreno 4, along with support for dual-channel LPDDR5 memory, while continuing to support LPDDR4X to reduce costs.

In terms of connectivity, the processor offers multiple options for smartphone manufacturers, including support for Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 depending on the used chip, with the possibility of accessing Bluetooth 6.0 through one of the options, but it does not support Wi-Fi 7.

The processor also includes security enhancements that include support for Widevine L1 and new technologies for verifying system integrity, in addition to a larger package to accommodate additional input/output ports.

Qualcomm has not officially announced the processor yet, and details about the launch date and price are still unknown. However, expectations suggest that it will be released next year, with the possibility of making some modifications to the specifications before the official announcement.
