Sharjah, August 23 (WAM) - The University of Sharjah has launched a comprehensive institutional initiative to review and develop academic programs and curricula, with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of faculty members in redesigning them according to the learning outcomes-based education model, and leveraging artificial intelligence technologies in developing the educational process.

The initiative comes within the framework of the university's vision to keep pace with future requirements and labor market needs, as well as promoting innovation in education and responsible use of artificial intelligence.

His Excellency Dr. Esam Al-Ajmi, Director of the University of Sharjah, said that the initiative embodies the university’s strategy and the vision of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Vice-President of Sharjah and President of the University, in establishing the university as a leading academic institution that looks into the future of higher education.

He emphasized that artificial intelligence represents a strategic enabler for developing education and scientific research, highlighting the importance of investing in faculty members and enhancing their capabilities to design modern academic programs and prepare graduates with future skills.

Dr. Nuar Thabet, Acting Vice-Director of the University for Academic Affairs, explained that the program is an institutional project involving faculty members from various colleges, aiming to review and develop academic programs in line with labor market needs and future skills.

Dr. Maher Omar, Director of the Institute of Leadership in Higher Education and supervisor of the initiative's implementation, said that the program utilizes the latest artificial intelligence applications in designing and developing curricula while maintaining full academic responsibility for faculty members.

The faculty members participate in practical workshops that focus on redesigning curricula according to learning outcomes, developing innovative digital educational resources, and enhancing the quality of education and graduates' readiness. This supports the university's shift towards a more flexible, innovative, and sustainable educational system.
