Nubia RedMagic Astra 2, the successor to the RedMagic Astra we tested in 2025, is launching globally with prices starting at $749 (approximately £599) for the configuration that comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The 16GB variant with 512GB of storage costs around $849 (approximately £679). The tablet is available in Black Eclipse and Silver Starfrost colors, and it is scheduled to be generally available in August 2026. Until then, early bird offers include a free 80W power adapter.

The tablet features a 9.06-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2400x1504 pixels and supports up to 185 Hz refresh rates for video content while the average touch sampling rate is 300 Hz, which can peak at 2000 Hz. Nubia claims that the peak brightness reaches 1600 cd/m² with an average brightness of 1100 cd/m² across the entire screen, which should be sufficient for comfortable outdoor use. However, this may put a noticeable strain on the battery, which comes in at 8300 mAh.

The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, coupled with Nubia’s AquaCore Cooling System 2.0. Additional features include a 13 MP main camera, a 9 MP front-facing camera, and an integrated fingerprint sensor.
