Google is officially renaming NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook, according to TechCrunch.

Google has officially announced the renaming of its service NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook. This comes after it transitioned from an experimental project within Google Labs in 2023 to a tool used by over 30 million people and more than 600,000 organizations worldwide.

The company explained that the new name reflects the service's expansion and its growing role within the Google ecosystem. It will continue as an independent product focused on research and information organization while integrating more broadly with the Gemini app and Google Search.

At the same time, Google is introducing a new update that provides each Notebook with a secure cloud computer. This enables Gemini Notebook to write and execute code directly, facilitating advanced data analysis based on user sources.

This feature is currently available for subscribers of Google AI Ultra and Google Workspace customers. It will be accessible to all Google AI Pro subscribers via the web in the coming weeks.

Google also confirmed that Notebooks will soon be available through the AI Mode in Google Search, along with access via the Gemini app.
