The PlayStation monthly game list for July has been revealed, including the core PS Plus games for this month: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, a first-person shooter and the sequel to the remastered Modern Warfare 2, which was released in 2023. This installment of Call of Duty is being added to PS Plus in the same month that Activision is offering enhanced versions of Black Ops 1 and 2 for PlayStation. Additionally, PS Plus will be adding tactical role-playing game For the King 2 and 2D role-playing game Cross Code in July.

The three games will be available to PS Plus subscribers in Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/Premium bundles starting on July 7th, and can be added to the PlayStation library until August 3rd. The monthly PS Plus list for June, which included Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, will remain available until July 6th. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Activision is gearing up to release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 in October, promising an “ideal Modern Warfare” experience. Before that, however, Modern Warfare 3 will be available on PS Plus this month. The first-person shooter comes with a single-player campaign mode, multiplayer mode, and zombie mode.

The Modern Warfare 3 campaign includes open-world combat missions similar to Warzone, which received harsh criticism when it was released. The campaign follows Captain Price and Task Force 141 as they track down the Russian terrorist Vladimir Makarov. The cross-generation game pack will be added to PS Plus, making it available on both PS4 and PS5.

For the King 2

The tactical role-playing game For the King 2 arrives on PS Plus on July 7. Developed by IronOak Games, it is the sequel to For the King, featuring a turn-based combat system on an automatically generated map. For the King 2 can be played solo or in teams of up to four players.
The game combines elements from roguelike and traditional role-playing games, set in the fictional world of Fahraland where the once beloved queen has turned against her subjects. For the King 2 will be available for PS Plus members on both PS4 and PS5.

CrossCode

CrossCode completes the list of July’s PS Plus Essentials. The 2D role-playing game features classic 16-bit graphics, combining fast combat with puzzle solving. It was released in 2018 after years in early access and places players in the role of Lea as she explores dungeons inspired by the Zelda series.
The game features both close combat and ranged attacks, along with a wide variety of equipment to use in battles and boss encounters. CrossCode will be available for PS Plus members on both PS4 and PS5.
