Apple is preparing to launch iOS 27 for users on Monday, September 14, 2026, but the initial release of the system will not include two features that were available during the trial period. The company has decided to give them more time for testing before introducing them in a subsequent update.

Apple explained through the pages of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate that the smart suggestions feature within the Messages app and the automatic repair of compromised passwords will not be available with the initial release. These features will arrive in a future update for the operating systems.

One-click password repair

The first feature relates to the Passwords app, where Apple Intelligence and Safari browser are used to help manage passwords that have been identified as compromised. During the trial period, the feature allowed the system to repair compromised passwords in the background without manual intervention from the user each time, aiming to simplify the process of securing accounts and keeping login data up-to-date. However, Apple has decided to postpone this function, so it will not be available in the first version of iOS 27, despite appearing in previous trial releases.

Smart suggestions within Messages conversations

The second feature is related to the Messages app and also relies on Apple Intelligence capabilities. The system can analyze the context of the conversation and provide actionable suggestions with a single tap. For example, if someone asks the user to send a photo or perform a specific task during the conversation, Messages can recognize the request and suggest an appropriate action using the application associated with the task. This feature aims to turn conversations into a starting point for executing tasks instead of forcing the user to exit the messaging app and manually search for the right app or function.

When will these features reach iPhone?
Although Apple has not announced a specific date for the arrival of these features, there is a strong possibility that they will appear in one of the subsequent updates for iOS 27. iOS 27.1 is expected to arrive before October 23rd, which is the launch date of iPhone Duo. This phone will be delivered to users with iOS 27.1 pre-installed, making this update an early potential candidate for introducing the two delayed features. Apple plans to release iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 to all users on Monday, September 14th, while the two delayed features will arrive in a future update after Apple completes its testing.
