So many rumored products were recently confirmed because of Apple itself leaking the details, but it turns out that all of this news was because of a single mistake in macOS that they've been making for years.


When Apple issued the release candidate of macOS Tahoe 26.7 on August 17, 2026, it should have been practically routine. The release candidate is the last stage of a series of test versions, and unless something unexpected happens, it's the one that is then released to users instead of testers.

Something unexpected happened. Buried inside the release candidate was a whole series of references to products Apple has not yet announced. Many of them were just code names, but there are details of how devices like the expected Home Hub will work.
