A global announcement event for Huawei is set to take place on the 14th, and the company has confirmed through an official teaser image that this event will see the launch of its new tablet, the Huawei MatePad Air 2026. The available images show that Huawei has updated the external appearance of the device compared to previous versions such as the Huawei MatePad Air 2024 and also the Huawei MatePad Air 2025.

Huawei is primarily focusing on renewing and developing its rear camera module, which now includes a single lens integrated with an LED flash. This module stands out more prominently from the device’s housing compared to the previous generation directly. The engraved writing on the camera module confirms that it features a 50 MP main lens. The tablet boasts a slightly curved frame that blends seamlessly with the rear interface, and will be available in color options including silver, pink, and light blue. The images also show that Huawei has equipped the device with a quad speaker audio system, featuring four speakers, with the front-facing selfie camera integrated inconspicuously within the thin edge of the screen.

Huawei is launching a new tablet with an intelligent pen and keyboard case, although the latter does not include a touchpad. Other details about the Huawei MatePad Air 2026’s specifications are still unknown. To recap, last year's model featured a 12-inch IPS display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a resolution of up to 2800 x 1840 at a refresh rate of 144 Hz. It also included a large battery with a capacity of 10,000 mAh and support for fast charging at 66W within a thin aluminum frame measuring just 5.9 mm.
