Google has expanded the availability of Gemini within the Chrome browser to a new and important market, after officially launching it in the United Kingdom, which was one of the most prominent markets that did not have this feature until now.

The launch begins with the Chrome version for computers, while the company confirmed that Chrome users on iOS in the UK will get the feature next month.

Gemini within the browser allows direct conversations with the user, summarizing open tabs, comparing information between multiple pages, and remembering previous conversation contexts. It also creates and edits images using Nano Banana 2, all without leaving the current page.

The assistant also integrates directly with Google services such as Calendar, Maps, Gmail, and YouTube, allowing questions about a video or geographical location, as well as scheduling meetings and writing emails.

Google confirmed that Gemini models have been trained to recognize known security threats, including Prompt Injection attacks. It has also provided protection mechanisms that require user confirmation before executing any sensitive actions.
