Over the past year, a series of leaks emerged about a successor to the HMD Skyline 2. Now new information has appeared that not only confirms that the device is still on its way to market but also reveals that it will come with better technical specifications than previously circulated. According to the leaker, the HMD Skyline 2 will be equipped with an OLED display supporting a fast refresh rate of 144Hz. As reported earlier, however, the phone will now be powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor rather than the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 as mentioned in May 2025 leaks.

This latest processor will be paired with RAM options of either 8GB or 12GB, along with an internal storage capacity of 256GB that can be expanded to a maximum of 1TB via external microSD memory cards. HMD will ship the phone with a high-end rear main camera with a resolution of 108MP. However, instead of relying on a very wide 13MP camera and a telephoto lens with a 50MP resolution, it is said that the Skyline 2 model will feature two sensors, each with a full 50MP resolution, as well as a third front-facing camera with a 50MP resolution. This supports automatic focus features and EIS technology for capturing high-quality selfies.

Leaks also suggest that the HMD Skyline 2 phone will support fast charging with a capacity of 40W, along with advanced wireless charging capabilities using the Qi2 standard. The device will include stereo speakers, a dedicated button for taking photos with the device's camera, and a modern USB 3.2 Type-C port. It will also support self-healing features of the second generation (Gen2). HMD will launch the phone in black, yellow, and cyan color options. However, it appears that the external design will remain unchanged.

There is no confirmed news yet about the exact date for the official announcement of the phone. However, it is expected to be launched within this year. It remains unknown whether other anticipated versions of the Skyline 2 series, such as the Skyline 2 GT and Skyline 2 Business Edition, are still in development or have been canceled.
