ASUS revealed a new gaming monitor, the ROG Strix XG27UCMG model. This monitor comes with a 27-inch Fast IPS panel and 4K resolution as an alternative to the company’s OLED models. The screen's main feature is its support for Triple Mode, which allows users to switch between three configurations of resolution and refresh rate: 4K at 240 Hz, QHD at 400 Hz with overclocking, or FHD at 488 Hz with overclocking. This covers a wide range of gaming uses, from high-resolution games to competitive games where FPS frames are much more important than display resolution.

The Fast IPS panel has a minimum response time of 0.3 ms, an original refresh rate of 240 Hz, and a contrast ratio of 1300:1. The peak HDR brightness is rated at 400 cd/m² while the average brightness is also 400 cd/m². It covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color range and 130% of the sRGB color range with a 10-bit color depth and HDR10 support. The screen surface is anti-glare compared to the glossy protection layer TrueBlack found in ASUS’s OLED Swift monitors.

The XG27UCMG screen also includes AI-powered gaming features from ASUS such as Dynamic Crosshair, Dynamic Shadow Boost and AI Visual along with ELMB Sync technology which combines the feature of reducing very low motion blur with variable refresh rate VRR at the same time. VRR support covers both compatibility with AMD FreeSync Premium and G-Sync technologies.

Connection options include DisplayPort 1.4 DSC, one HDMI 2.1 port, a USB C port with DP Alt Mode, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A ports, and power delivery via the USB C port with a capacity of 15 W. The stand supports tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustment by 110 mm with VESA 100×100 mm installation capability. It also features Aura Sync lighting. Weighing 6.5 kg with the stand.
