Berlin, September 10 (WAM) - The United Arab Emirates has announced its intention to invest €40 billion in Germany across a number of sectors that are of strategic and developmental priority for both countries. These include industry, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, energy, and other vital areas of mutual interest.

This announcement comes amidst the growing momentum in UAE-German relations, coinciding with the "State Visit" by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, to the Federal Republic of Germany.

This investment embodies the UAE's approach to building long-term economic and investment partnerships, as well as its confidence in Germany's industrial, technological, and innovative capabilities. Of the €40 billion, €10 billion will be invested in Bavaria.

This investment marks a significant step forward in the economic partnership between the UAE and Germany by directing capital towards sectors that will drive growth and competitiveness over the next decades. It will also leverage Germany's advanced industrial, technological, and research capabilities, alongside the UAE's investment expertise and ability to support major projects, accelerate their growth, and expand them.

The investment will contribute to supporting innovation, developing future technologies, enhancing energy security, and strengthening digital infrastructure. It will also open new opportunities for companies and institutions in both countries to build long-term partnerships, thereby contributing to economic growth, creating new opportunities, and transferring knowledge and expertise.

At the same time, enhanced cooperation with Germany will enable the UAE to expand its investment presence in one of Europe’s largest and most industrially and technologically advanced economies. It will also allow it to benefit from German expertise in sectors that are consistent with the country’s priorities for building a future economy based on knowledge, technology, and innovation. In this way, investment will transcend its financial dimension to establish a long-term strategic partnership between Emirati capital and investment on one hand, and Germany’s industrial, technological, and innovative base on the other, thereby enhancing shared economic interests and cementing the two countries’ status as partners in developing future sectors.
