Leakers published the first images and additional details about the specifications of the new generation of the mid-range HMD Skyline 2 phone after the first rumors appeared about the successor to the HMD Skyline phone, which is displayed for $399. As expected, the design does not differ much from the previous model, and the phone will be available in colors including light blue, black, and yellow.

The phone retains the distinctive Nokia Lumia design with a round screen within a square frame, which is unique in the smartphone market. The updates on the HMD Skyline 2 phone focus on improving technical specifications, as the company will integrate an OLED panel with 144 Hz refresh rate and now double the brightness of the previous generation in HDR mode to reach 2000 nits. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor will be replaced by a newer one, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, which offers 16% higher performance in multi-core tests.

Reports indicate that the battery will charge slightly faster via a USB C port with up to 40W, while continuing to support Qi2 magnetic chargers. The updates include an upgraded camera system where the phone retains a 108 MP main camera with OIS optical image stabilization and a 50 MP telephoto lens. The ultra-wide camera has also been upgraded to include a 50 MP sensor. The phone also comes with a 50 MP selfie camera, 8 GB to 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of flash storage with a microSD card slot and a dedicated button for capturing photos. The phone will remain very easy to repair, but the official launch date or expected price in the market has not yet been determined.
