A new report revealed that the Xiaomi 18 series will be the first phones to reach markets with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processors, after their official announcement during the Snapdragon Summit scheduled between September 22 and 24.

According to the report, Xiaomi, vivo, and Oppo are preparing to launch their flagship smartphones in the same month, but Xiaomi will be the first to offer phones equipped with the new generation of Qualcomm processors.

The series is expected to include three phones: Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro, and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will come with two 200-megapixel cameras, one based on a LOFIC sensor measuring 1/1.28 inches, while it is rumored that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will get a larger rear screen, possibly supporting the Privacy Display feature.

Xiaomi 18 will come with a 6.4-inch screen and a huge battery with a capacity of 7200 mAh.

Regarding processors, leaks indicate that Qualcomm will introduce two processors: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, both manufactured at 2 nanometer precision, with a new Oryon core architecture.

The standard version will include an Adreno 845 graphics processor with an integrated 12 MB graphics memory, while the Pro version will get an Adreno 850 processor with larger 18 MB graphics memory, in addition to an 8 MB LLC memory.

The report indicates that the high price of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor, which could reach around $300, will be the reason for its exclusivity to the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and possibly the Xiaomi 18 Ultra in the future, while both the Xiaomi 18 and Xiaomi 18 Pro will rely on the standard version of the processor.

Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max during September, making them the first phones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processors. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 18 will hit the market in October.
