A new report reveals that Oppo may be moving towards unifying the operating systems of its different brands by fully merging OxygenOS and Realme UI within ColorOS.

In 2021, Pete Lau announced the integration of OxygenOS with ColorOS, ending the development of a separate system for OnePlus phones compared to Oppo phones. New leaks indicate that the company is preparing to take an additional step by also incorporating Realme UI into ColorOS.

According to the report, this move aims to unify software development and reduce research and development costs as part of a broader plan to restructure the company's business.

This information coincides with recent indicators, most notably OnePlus directing some customers in Germany towards purchasing Oppo phones, along with the depletion of most OnePlus products from its official store in the UK.

The report suggests that OnePlus will focus solely on the Indian and Chinese markets in the future while gradually discontinuing operations in other markets. Even in India, OnePlus' after-sales services are already being managed by Oppo.

Conversely, Realme is reportedly withdrawing from the Chinese market, with a greater focus on global markets, which may reduce the overlap between the two brands outside of India.

In the United States, the future of both brands remains unclear. It is not yet known whether Oppo will abandon the market entirely or try to expand its branded devices, especially since OnePlus has failed to surpass a 1% market share there.
