Google continues to expand the use of artificial intelligence within its applications, and this time through the new Gmail Live service that allows users to have a voice conversation with the Gmail app to quickly get information from emails without having to search traditionally among hundreds of messages.

Gmail turns into an intelligent assistant that talks to the user

Google is currently testing the Gmail Live feature on Android and iOS phones, which relies on artificial intelligence technologies to provide an interactive experience within the email application. The feature will allow users to ask questions in their voices about the content of Gmail messages, for the app to analyze the mail and respond with the appropriate answer.

This feature extends the "Ask Gmail" feature that allows writing questions in natural language to get smart summaries, but Gmail Live adds to it the possibility of full voice interaction through an interface similar to Gemini Live service.

Track orders and appointments with just one question

For example, a user can ask: "What is the latest update on my recent orders?" or "What are the dates of my upcoming trips?", for Gmail to search within emails and display the answer on the screen while reading it aloud.

The feature aims to facilitate access to important information, especially for users who have email boxes containing hundreds or thousands of messages, saving time and making searching faster and more accurate.

Launch Date and Target Audience

Gmail Live is still in testing, but Google plans to launch it during the summer of 2026 for subscribers of Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra. The service will be part of the company's paid AI toolkit, offering users a smarter experience in managing emails and searching for information using voice commands.
