To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its sub-brand Republic of Gamers, or ROG, Asus has released a full range of products from the ROG Xbox Ally X20 to the gaming monitor Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-G Edition 20. The monitor is now available and listed on the Asus eShop for $1,199. For comparison, the technically similar PG27AQWP-W costs $1,099.

Like all products in the ROG Edition 20 lineup, the monitor features a black frame with gold accents. The standout design feature is the partially transparent back panel that offers a glimpse of the monitor’s internal components. The monitor is equipped with an advanced LG Display tandem OLED panel. Although it only achieves a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels at a pixel density of 111 PPI and a size of 26.5 inches, it delivers an impressive refresh rate of 540 Hz at full HD or 720 Hz at 720p.

The Tandem OLED technology is also said to provide a 60% longer virtual lifespan compared to older WOLED panels, achieving higher brightness with an ASUS-measured brightness of 335 nits across the entire screen and a peak HDR brightness of 1500 nits. It can reproduce 99.5% of the DCI-P3 color range, and a special TrueBlack Glossy protective layer has been designed to ensure deep black colors can be displayed even in the presence of bright lighting in the room.

With the Neo Proximity Sensor feature, the screen can detect when the user leaves the desk and display only a black screen to prevent burn-in and save power. The ASUS monitor includes a DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 port with a speed of 80 Gbit/s and two HDMI 2.1 ports, but it forgoes a USB-C port. However, it comes with a three-port USB A hub. The warranty covers burn-in for three years as well
