أعلنت شاومي عن إيقاف الدعم البرمجي بشكل كامل لعدد من هواتفها الشهيرة من الفئتين الرائدة والمتوسطة وقامت الشركة بضم سلسلة هواتف Xiaomi 12 وسلسلة Poco X5 بالإضافة إلى طرازات مختارة من هواتف Redmi إلى القائمة الرسمية للأجهزة التي انتهت فترة دعمها والمعروفة باسم EOL وهذا يعني أن هذه الأجهزة لن تتلقى بعد الآن أي تحديثات لنظام التشغيل Android أو واجهة الاستخدام HyperOS ولن تحصل على أي ميزات جديدة أو إصلاحات للأخطاء البرمجية أو حتى الرقع الأمنية المستقبلية

و كانت بعض هذه الأجهزة قد توقفت بالفعل عن تلقي تحديثات نظام التشغيل الرئيسية في وقت سابق وفقا لسياسة التحديثات الموعودة من شاومي ورغم أن الهواتف ستستمر في العمل بشكل طبيعي واعتيادي إلا أنه من غير المرجح أن تقوم شاومي بإصلاح أي ثغرات أمنية مكتشفة حديثا أو تقديم أي تحسينات في الأداء العام مما يجعل الترقية إلى هواتف أحدث خيارا مطروحا وضروريا إذا كان جهازك متواجدا ضمن القائمة المعلنة

وبالحديث عن الهواتف المشمولة فقد ضمت الإضافات الأخيرة طرازات Xiaomi 12 وأيضا Xiaomi 12 Pro والنسخة الحصرية لأسواق الصين Xiaomi 12S Ultra إلى جانب الأجهزة اللوحية Xiaomi Pad 6 وأيضا Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro المخصصة للسوق الصيني كما أنهت الشركة الدعم عن النسخ الإقليمية لكل من هاتف Poco X5 5G في تركيا وهاتف POCO X5 Pro 5G في إندونيسيا وشمل القرار طرازات من عائلة Redmi تتضمن Redmi Note 12T Pro وهاتف Redmi K60E الموجهين للصين وهاتف Redmi 10 5G المخصص للمنطقة الاقتصادية الأوروبية EEA

Xiaomi officially ends software support for a new group of its phones and the Poco series as well as Redmi in markets, according to TechRadar.

Xiaomi has announced the complete cessation of software support for a number of its popular phones in both the flagship and midrange categories. The company included the Xiaomi 12 series, the Poco X5 series, and selected models from the Redmi phone line in the official list of devices whose support period has ended, known as EOL (End of Life). This means that these devices will no longer receive any Android OS or HyperOS interface updates, nor will they get new features, bug fixes, or even future security patches.

Some of these devices had already stopped receiving major OS updates earlier. According to Xiaomi's promised update policy, although the phones will continue to function normally, it is unlikely that Xiaomi will fix any newly discovered security vulnerabilities or provide performance improvements. This makes upgrading to newer phones a necessary option if your device is on the announced list.

Regarding the phones included, the recent additions include the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro models, as well as the exclusive China market version, Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Additionally, it includes the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro tablets, which are also for the Chinese market. The company has also ended support for regional versions of Poco X5 5G in Turkey and POCO X5 Pro 5G in Indonesia. The decision covers models from the Redmi family, including the Redmi Note 12T Pro and Redmi K60E targeted at China, as well as the Redmi 10 5G for the European Economic Area (EEA)
