Abu Dhabi, May 7 (WAM) - The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police, in the presence of His Excellency Major General Ahmed Saif Al-Zaitoon Al-Mahiri, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, sector directors and a number of officers, implemented the AI READY initiative for 2026, in cooperation with its strategic partners; the Advanced Technology Research Council and the Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, under the strategic priority "Institutional Efficiency and Flexibility" and the strategic goal "An artificial intelligence-based police system".

His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police explained that this initiative embodies the wise leadership's direction and its future vision in accelerating the transition to smart government business models enhanced by self-executing artificial intelligence technologies, which supports institutional performance efficiency and enhances the quality of government services, through enabling and inspiring institutional cadres to adopt artificial intelligence applications in various police operations, which contributes to developing institutional work systems, establishing a culture of innovation and leadership, and looking into the future.

He affirmed that this approach embodies pride in what the UAE has achieved from qualitative achievements, and what Abu Dhabi Emirate has reached as one of the safest cities in the world for the tenth year in a row, noting its continued efforts to implement the wise leadership's directives to develop the police work system, and adopt the latest technical solutions to enhance security, stability, and quality of life.

He pointed to the pivotal role of the Abu Dhabi Police Artificial Intelligence Council in leading smart transformation within the police system, by supporting the adoption of advanced technologies and developing policies and initiatives that support the use of artificial intelligence, which contributes to raising the efficiency of security performance and anticipating future challenges.

The council addressed a number of strategic axes, including reviewing the most prominent local and global practices in artificial intelligence applications through key sessions that brought together police leaders from sector directors and their deputies, department managers and their deputies, as well as strategic partners and experts, with the aim of enhancing institutional efficiency by employing artificial intelligence in police operations.

The AI READY initiative for 2026 includes a set of activities and programs aimed at police leadership and employees, as well as members of the community, strategic partners, and startups in the artificial intelligence sector, which enhances the innovation system and supports the sustainability of institutional development.
