BEIJING, June 30 (WAM) - China’s factory activity expanded again in June, driven by strong exports of advanced technology products and increasing demand linked to the boom in artificial intelligence technologies.

A survey conducted by China’s National Bureau of Statistics showed that the official Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for the manufacturing sector rose to 50.3 points in June from 50.0 points in May, surpassing expectations and crossing the 50-point threshold between growth and contraction.

The non-manufacturing PMI, which includes services and construction, also improved to 50.2 points from 50.1 points in May, while the composite index rose to 50.6 points from 50.5 points in the previous month.

Strong global demand for semiconductors used in data centers and advanced electronics is boosting China’s industrial sector performance, taking advantage of the country’s large manufacturing capabilities.
